What is 16 Tech?
16 Tech is an emerging innovation district in Indianapolis intentionally resourced with facilities and programs that support the tech enablement of human health advancement in life sciences and advanced manufacturing and the talent driving their growth. At full build-out, 16 Tech is expected to house facilities and programs supporting more than 3,000 jobs in advanced industries.

What is an Innovation District?
Unlike a suburban office park with standalone buildings, innovation districts concentrate entrepreneurial resources in walkable, urban environments. They bring together startups, corporations, researchers and educators to spark collaboration and drive regional competitiveness.
Who owns 16 Tech?
16 Tech Community Corporation (16TCC), a nonprofit 501(c)(3), is the landowner responsible for the planning, development and long-term stewardship of the 16 Tech Innovation District. 16TCC partners with private developers and operators to build and manage specialized facilities.
How is 16 Tech funded?
16 Tech exists thanks to significant public and philanthropic investment that enabled the district’s early infrastructure—roads, utilities, and initial buildings—and provided startup capital for 16TCC, including community engagement efforts. While 16TCC expects real estate operations to become self-sustaining, mission-driven programming that expands access to talent, innovation and entrepreneurship will continue to rely on philanthropic support.
